Rumors and fake news on Whatsapp have announced another series of measures to curtail mass forwarding of messages, images, and videos.
Whatsapp launched its forwarded label in India earlier this month to identify messages which are not original and have been forwarded. Along with this limit message forwarding to 5 chats in India to fast spread of rumors.
Are you a Group Admin? You are Accountable.
All participants can normally edit the group description, icon, and subject, but finally, the administrator can restrict this feature today, preventing no-administrators to modify the group description.
Several other group features are expected to make their way to WhatsApp soon. In testing since November, and disabled by default, are other Restricted Group features – including the ability to block all participants from being able to Send messages – including group text messages, images, videos, GIFs, documents, voice messages – or even starting a new live location session. Administrators will be able to choose whether all participants or only admins have access to these features. A participant will be able to request the admin for the ability to post, using the Message admin button.

Other New Features
‘Suspicious Link Detection’
WhatsApp’s ‘Suspicious Link Detection’ is another feature aimed at curbing the spread of misinformation by warning users of spam by putting a red label on such messages.
WhatsApp Media visibility
WhatsApp Media visibility feature has been rolled out for beta Android version 2.18.194 of the app. It gives a user the option to hide or show media received in the gallery.
