Heli-tourism makes a comeback to Udupi With an intention to keep a chopper permanently in Udupi district to cater to the religious tourism needs as well as medical tourism, the Udupi district administration in association with Mantra Tourism Development Company, Chipsan Aviation and UVA Meridian reintroduced heli-tourism in Udupi from Friday.
Heli-tourism was launched in Udupi in 2016 and during the year, the events were held twice followed by one event in 2017.
There is a demand. On Friday, we received about 13 bookings.” The district administration in Udupi is leaving no stone unturned to tap the tourism potential of the Coastal district. On an average, they used to get 15-30 bookings per day from the time they launched in January 2016.
When is the helicopter ride?
Heli-tourism operation at UVA Meridian Resorts in Kundapur Helipad will be held from January 4 to January 6 between 10 am and 5.30 pm and at Adi Udupi NCC grounds between January 11- January 13 between 10 am and 5.30 pm.

Helicopter Ride Prices
People can opt from two types of rides that are an eight-minute joy ride for Rs 2,500 per person and a 10-minute adventure ride costing Rs 3,000 per person.
