Only Light Vehicles can ply for next 15 days; work yet to be fully complete
People Travelling on the Bengaluru-Mangaluru road can zip through as the Shiradi Ghat stretch has been opened to light vehicles on Sunday. At a few places, landslip has caused damage to the protective wall which has since been repaired.
This section of the highway has refreshing scenic views to offer during monsoon. Shiradi is the nearest, widest road to Mangalore from Bangalore so a lot of traffic hits this highway. This, in turn, will have a surge in enthusiastic bikers exploring this new road.
Who constructed it?
Mangaluru based Ocean Construction Company won the tender for the concretization of the 12.3Km stretch from Kempuhole to Addahole. The project was completed an ahead of timeline compared to initial 15 months proposed.
